Showtime`s hit show QUEER AS FOLK has sparked a great deal of controversy, both for centering a show entirely around gay men, and for the subsequent portrayals of those men. Brian Kinney is the figure around whom the homosexual residents of a gay neighborhood in Pittsburgh coalesce. In SEASON FOUR, Brian`s relationship with Justin is strectched to its limits, but also matures at the same time. Michael and Ben, another couple on the show, have to deal with Ben`s sickness as well as the success of Michael`s comic book featuring a gay superhero. Finally, Melanie and Lindsay face a threat to their relationship when Lindsay begins experimenting with her sexuality. The British drama COLD FEET enters its third series with more problems in store for its six leading characters. As Jenny (Fay Ripley) and Pete (John Thomson) face the music and decide to break up, Adam (James Nesbitt) and Rachel (Helen Baxendale) move in the opposite direction and talk about getting married. Meanwhile, David (Robert Bathurst) and Karen (Hermione Norris) face problems as David enters into a sordid affair shortly after Karen gives birth to twins. The show creates a successful formula by tempering the drama with moments of inspired comedy--the scenes between Nesbitt and Thomson`s characters are frequently played for laughs and provide a welcome respite from the relationship woes that dominate each episode. A hit on BBC America and in its native country, COLD FEET has often been compared to FRIENDS, although it delves far deeper into the motivations and actions of the characters and provides a grittier portrayal of life than the popular American sitcom. The third series of the show is included here in its entirety.

Based on the writings of STAR TREK creator Gene Roddenberry, the sci-fi television series ANDROMEDA stars Kevin Sorbo (of HERCULES fame) as Dylan Hunt, captain of the sentient starship Andromeda Ascendant for the All-Systems Commonwealth, a galaxy-spanning near-utopian government. Ordered to the far end of a galaxy to rescue a star system from a rapidly approaching black hole, Hunt and his crew become frozen in time for 300 years until a passing ship awakens them. To their dismay, they find that the Commonwealth government has fallen apart and the various member galaxies now exist in utter chaos under a militant organization known as the Nietzscheans. The series follows Hunt and the Andromeda crew as they cope with their new environment and attempt to restore order while fending off the hostile forces who wish to destroy them. This volume includes episodes 418-422 from the series' fourth season.
