When AMERICAN IDOL first graced TV screens in 2002, the search for the next big singing star threw up a mixture of the talented and the terrible, as thousands of eager participants got the chance to audition for the judges. This collection features some of the worst wannabe idols, who got only a mercifully brief glimpse of fame. William Hung, who gets the unenviable honor of being the cream of this particular crop, is the most famous of the bunch, even scoring a record deal that highlighted his inimitable lack of vocal talent. Among the other highlights are the two worst performances from each of the first four seasons of the show, some of the harshest criticism doled out by the judges to this vocally challenged group, a look at some of the worst outfits worn by the contestants, and a collection of the weird and wonderful lengths to which some people will go to in their attempts to be a star.
