Following in the footsteps of THE RIFLEMAN, Chuck Connors continued to epitomize the persona of the old west loner in this fondly remembered series. Although BRANDED only lasted two years, it gained a cult of devoted fans who found the show's unique perspective as thrilling as its gunfighting action. Connors' role as Jason McCord was an intriguing figure, the lone survivor of a Native American massacre who was dishonorably discharged and (in contrast to most legendary western characters) is seen as yellow by those who he meets in his frontier travels. Despite his reputation as the coward of Bitter Creek, McCord's relationship with President Ulysses S. Grant (William Bryant) has remained strong and the roaming gunman is often called upon for secret government missions. The characterization of the government and the references to the Civil War give the program interesting political undertones. The misunderstood lead character comes across many familiar faces in this collection of the entire second, and final, season. Guest appearances include

Though the Avengers are technically a slick, crime-fighting DUO, for most male fans of the cult British television series, only one of them mattered. This was Emma Peel, the tough, sexy and witty heroine played by Diana Riggs. Clad in sleek black and as quick with a quip as with a gun, Peel was a precursor to American interpretations of female crime fighters like Charlie`s Angels. The star of countless musicals, Carol Lawrence received a Tony award for her work in the Broadway production of WEST SIDE STORY, and also starred in many film and television productions. Errol Morris is one of the most insightful documentarians to ever work within the genre, with his Ocar-winning film, THE FOG OF WAR, finally allowing him some deserved exposure to a mainstream audience. In 2000 he took a step into the world of television, producing an innovate series called FIRST PERSON. Morris's quest for innovation in his chosen field knows no bounds, so for this show he wheeled out his Interrotron camera, designed so that subjects have to keep constant eye contact with the somewhat intimidating director. The series of interviews he conducted make up the basis for the show, with the guest subjects offering some remarkable musings on topics such as the hunt for a giant squid; a mother's unique attempt to come to terms with her son's suicide; the devious activities of credit card companies; a potentially perilous encounter with the Unabomber; and many others.
