The long-running television Western BONANZA (1959-1973) followed the adventures of patriarch Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene) and his three sons--Adam (Pernell Roberts), Hoss (Dan Blocker), and Little Joe (Michael Landon)--on their Ponderosa Ranch in 1800s Nevada. This collection includes six classic episodes: in The Avenger, Adam and Ben are wrongly sentenced to hang for murder; in Dark Star, Little Joe falls in love with a gypsy girl seeking sanctuary after being branded a witch; in The Fear Merchants, the Cartwrights defend a Chinese youth blamed for the slaying of a local; in Day of Reckoning, Ben deals with racial bias when he gives land to a young Indian couple; in The Ape, Hoss's hotheaded new friend lands a job on the ranch; and in Last Trophy, the Cartwrights receive a visit from British friends Lord Marion and Lady Beatrice Dunsford.
