The creators of the action series THE A-TEAM scored an even bigger hit with HUNTER, one of the most popular television shows of the 1980s. Like a small-screen version of DIRTY HARRY, the show follows tough-guy police detective Hunter (played by former football star Fred Dryer), a believer in the philosophy of an eye for an eye. In an effort to curb his bad behavior, Hunter`s superiors team him with the beautiful and no-nonsense Dee Dee McCall (Stephanie Kramer), and the duo turn out to be the department`s most effective crime fighting team. HUNTER`s success depended on the chemistry between its two leads, and on hard-hitting action that stretched the boundaries of what could be shown on broadcast television at the time.
